page 3a Of Lampreys, Cormorants and Great Black-backed Gulls

In spring when the cormorants have returned to breed in
the Dutch Delta, young River Lampreys Lampetra fluviatilis
migrate to sea where they will stay one or two years before
returning to the river to spawn. During the exodus, cormorants
feast on lampreys and so do Great Black-backed Gulls, with a
little help of the cormorants that is!
